The Eclipse of it all
I just finished reading Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight Series for teens by Stephenie Meyer. I have to say I am somewhat disappointed. The first two books were captivating and I couldn’t rip myself from the books. For two days my family watched me with eyes eager for my return to the land of the living. Two days, that’s how long it took me to read the first two books, all 1000+ pages were read within 48 hours. It’s not that I’m a speed reader or anything, but when I find a book I like I lose myself. It was like that with the first two books, Twilight and New Moon. So I was eager to read Eclipse.
The action to me was not as face paced, and the main characters’ decisions, well feelings really, did not seem in keeping with the story that the author has built up. So I am disappointed and waiting for the next book in the series.
I’m hoping that when it is released in August, that Breaking Dawn is much better. Although I will devour it with the same fervor that I have all the others.
And speaking of being disappointed in sequels, Certain Girls, the follow up to the smash hit by Jennifer Weiner Good In Bed, was also a major disappointment. I would have been happier with her just leaving Cannie, Peter, and Joy in peace.
Maybe I should stop reading sequels.

I was so excited to see another Twilight reader in this class. My office mate at work is the YA librarian and she just held a Forks Prom for her group. It was so well attended that they are planning another party for the release of the fourth book. Very intruiging series, and yes, highly addictive! I was a huge Anne Rice fan a few years ago and really enjoyed getting to know Edward, Emmet, Alice, et al.

I agree..Cannie and Peter were fine. Some of the plot in that respect reminded me of Change of Heart by Picoult. I need to go back and read (actually I never read, I listen to audio books) Good in Bed.
